The Adventures of Rocket Fox by Cane McKeyton

Rocket Fox! Savior of the Galaxy! Defender of freedom! My goodness, I can't believe that I actually drew this and in full color too. Inspired by the classic science fiction movie posters of old this is also going to be my final work for art class. It's suppose to be remanisent of the 1930's style of chrome and bronze and sleek aerodynamic designs. Coloring is still a new thing for me so any tips you can give will be much appreciated. The story: Rocket, a humble inventor living on a back water planet suddenly finds himself thrust into a galactic adventure when rescues a mysterious girl from a crash. Apparently she is the exiled princess of a planet currently under the rule of an evil lord. With Rocket's help she will return to her home planet and take back her rightful place on the throne. Yah, pretty cheesy plot but I love movies like that. It's so cheesy you may just need a lactate pill to see it.

This is my version of the classic fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Taking place in the city, Little Red is taking groceries to her grandmother that lives in a retirement home when she runs into this guy. In my version the wolf is a mugger (grandma eating would be just downright deranged in this context). I really tried to improve my shading and shadow effects in this picture since the last one people have told me there wasn't enough.

Epicenter/Floating Population by Cane McKeyton

This one took FOREVER. X.x But I'm glad with how it came out. This piece was inspired by two pieces of music, some of my favorite songs. "Epicenter," from the Sim City 4 soundtrack features some really beautiful vocals and makes rme think of flying over breathtaking landscapes and mountains. The other is "Floating Population," also from Sim City 4. It features very relaxing fiddle work. I imagine a lone fiddle player up on a hill playing his song, silhouetted against the night moon. I just had to draw these images, my muse demanded it but alone they didn't quite seem to work. Then I got the idea "Maybe if I stick them together it might look good." So I did and this is what happened. A fox fiddle player and a wolf singer. Yah...... =) Oh and if you're curious what those songs sound like... Here's series I haven't visited in awhile. Venara and Nocturne locked in battle in a nondescript desolate environment. Many sleepless nights were spent on this picture. Particularly hard was recreating Venara's armor, because I remember it took me forever drawing it the first time over a year ago. I think it came out pretty good. The best part is that my scanner didn't eat it up, it actually made it better by darkening that shadows and increasing the contrast for me. So yah... *feels fulfilled* =D

An idea that randomly popped into my head while up late at night. Must be those cosmic moon rays again. So I picked up pencil and paper and got to work. I haven't really given much attention to my normal characters lately so I thought it would be nice to give them some love. Last time I drew Elizabith was over two months ago. So anyway, here we are dressed up like magicians or maybe Broadway musical stars. I don't know, something along that line that has to do with showbusiness.
